Rome Day 3

Another day gone in Roma... It was an amazing day as well. We walked the entire city I think!! We are definitely getting our walking in! We woke up leisurely today, had breakfast and then headed out to see the Pantheon and Vatican City in the afternoon, then of course after our siesta, we went to see the Trevi Foundation and the Spanish steps in the evening. We got some sidewalk pizza which was amazing. I bought the most beautiful two oil paintings and Dave bought some Giorgio Armani sunglasses. We found a really nice gift for Dave's dad. I hope he'll love it!! They are so kind to watch and love my Buddy while we are gone. The Vatican was amazing. It is truly fascinating to imagine how these buildings and the art were created so long ago. The Trevi Foundation was gorgeous at night. It was so neat to see people gathering around and hanging out on a hot summer evening. The eating times here are different than the U.S. We were walking around at 10:30 pm and the restaurants were full.

Well tomorrow we are off to Tuscany. We are renting a Fiat Panda... a tiny little car that Dave is excited to drive. Of course he wanted to rent a Ferrari but his wife said no way. We are headed in the direction of the hill towns and wine country, completely different than Roma. We are VERY excited. Look forward to some beautiful pictures!! We will be stopping in Montepulciano (which my friend Gavy loves!!), Monticiano and staying the night in Volterra.

Dave and I continue to marvel at how small the vehicles are here. The cars are tiny and many people commute on foot or on moped. Everything looks kid size! We've seen baby dump trucks, baby street sweepers, baby ambulances, and even baby police cars! The ambulance sounds like a clown car to me. I keep expecting the ambulance to stop and clowns jump out :).

Well I am off to bed. Very tired but a good tired! Buona Notte (good night) everyone!
